Introduction of Brewery Spent Grain Dryer
Brewer's spent grain (BSG) or vinasse is a by-product from brewery process. It contains a large amount of nutrients. After being processed, the dried vinasse/distiller's grains serve as good materials for animal feed.
Our spent grain drying system is as follows: If the moisture of the wet spent grain is higher than 75%-80%, a screw dehydrator is first used to reduce it to 62-65%, which can reduce the burden of the dryer. Then the spent grain goes into the drying process, where the final moisture of the spent grain can reach 12-15%.
Besides, we can offer the packing machine after the drying and crushing stages. We have packing machines for 25 kg/bag and 50 kg/bag, which can be adjusted according to customers' needs. We can also offer the full pellet plant, by adding some auxiliary materials, makes it into high-quality animal feed pellet.
Advantages of Brewery Spent Grain Dryer
Compact Footprint
Floor space is reduced by about 50% and investment by about 40% compared with a single-drum rotary dryer.
High Thermal Efficiency
Thermal efficiency reaches 70%, double that of a traditional single rotary dryer.
Anti-Sticking & Anti-Scorching
A special breaking and lifting device inside the dryer effectively prevents material from sticking to the wall and scorching.
Environmental Protection
A dust-removal device completely avoids dust pollution and meets environmental protection requirements.
Precise Moisture Control
Material flow speed is controlled by frequency conversion, so the final moisture is easily controlled to meet your needs.
Multiple Heating Source
The heat source can be coal, gas, oil, biomass particles, steam, etc.
Working Principle of Brewery Spent Grain Dryer
System
The brewer’s spent grain (BSG) dryer consists of a heat source, feeding system, rotary drum, discharging system, draft fan, dust collector, and control cabinet.
Drying Process: Wet BSG → Mixing → Preliminary Dewatering → Drying → Crushing → Packaging.
1. Feeding: Wet spent grains enter the dryer.
2. Lifting and Dispersion: Lifting plates continuously lift and scatter the material inside the drum.
3. Hot Air Contact: Hot air passes through the dispersed material, providing efficient heat transfer.
4. Drying: Moisture evaporates as the material absorbs heat.
5. Discharging and Dust Removal: Dried BSG is discharged and collected, while exhaust gas is treated by a dust removal system before release.
