Introduction of Bagasse Dryer
Bagasse is the fibrous residue left after sugarcane is crushed and pressed to extract the juice. After drying, it can be used as animal feed or as biofuel in sugar mills due to its relatively high calorific value. It is also suitable for papermaking and can be carbonized to produce activated carbon for wastewater treatment. The density, durability, combustion characteristics of bagasse will be improved after drying, and it will be easier to transport and store.
The bagasse rotary dryer uses a high-temperature, rapid-drying process that provides high heat-transfer coefficient and excellent thermal efficiency. It can quickly reduce the moisture content of bagasse to approximately 12%. Specially designed for materials with a certain degree of viscosity, the bagasse dryer is equipped with an internal scraping device that prevents the material from sticking to the inner wall of the drying cylinder.
Advantages of Bagasse Dryer
High Thermal Efficiency
The three-layer drum has a good self-heating effect that greatly reduces heat loss, reaching thermal efficiency of up to 80%.
Compact Footprint
The three-layer drum has a smaller footprint than traditional dryers, saving about 40% of project investment and 50% of power consumption.
High Automation, Large Capacity
High mechanization with continuous operation and large processing capacity.
Adjustable Output
Frequency-conversion feeding lets the required final moisture be easily adjusted to your needs.
Various Heat Sources
Hand-fired hot-air stoves, oil-fired boilers, direct or indirect hot-air stoves, gas, fuel oil and coal-fired stoves can all be used.
Low Investment
Low investment, low operating cost and a short investment-recovery time.
Working Principle of Bagasse Dryer
After a certain degree of dehydration and scattering, the bagasse enters into the drying drum through the feeder. Under the stirring of the lifting plates and shoveling plates that distribute evenly inside the roller, the sugar cane bagasse scatter evenly and contacts with hot air sufficiently in the drying area. This speeds up the drying heat transfer and mass transfer. The induced-draft system continuously removes the moist air from the drum. This helps prevent the dried bagasse from absorbing moisture again.
