Introduction of Spent Grain Dewatering Machine

Spent Grain Dewatering Machine

The Spent Grain Dewatering Machine is a high-efficiency industrial separation equipment specifically designed for the treatment of brewery waste, such as spent grains and hops. Utilizing advanced Screw Press technology, this machine is engineered to extract moisture from wet materials through mechanical compression.

In the brewing industry, spent grains typically have a high moisture content (around 80-85%). This machine effectively reduces the moisture level to approximately 60-65% or lower, making the material much easier to transport, store, or process into high-quality animal feed or biomass fuel. It is an essential component for breweries seeking to optimize waste management and enhance byproduct value.

Advantages of Spent Grain Dewatering Machine

01

High Efficiency

Powerful mechanical squeezing achieves lower moisture levels than traditional filters for immediate downstream processing.

02

Energy Saving

Uses a high-torque, low-speed drive, reducing energy costs by over 70% compared to thermal drying.

03

Long Service Life

Stainless steel (SUS304/316) construction with alloy-reinforced screw edges ensures a long, wear-resistant service life.

04

Full Automation

Designed for continuous operation with a self-cleaning screen to maintain high throughput without clogging.

05

Eco-Friendly

Minimizes waste volume and weight, significantly cutting transport costs and preventing environmental pollution.

06

Multiple Choice

Single shaft and double shaft series for your selection.

Working Principle of Spent Grain Dewatering Machine

The system consists of feed hopper, tapered screw shaft, cylindrical screen (filter mesh), drive motor, gearbox, and discharge regulation mechanism.

Feeding: The wet spent grain is continuously fed into the machine via the hopper.

Conveying & Compression: The internal screw shaft features a variable pitch and diameter. As the material moves along the axis, the space between the screw blades and the screen gradually narrows, generating intense mechanical pressure.

Liquid Separation: Under this pressure, the water is squeezed out through the precision-engineered screen mesh and collected in the drainage tray below.

Discharge: The dewatered "cake" is pushed toward the discharge outlet. A pressure-regulating cone or spring-loaded baffle at the outlet maintains backpressure to ensure consistent moisture reduction regardless of feed variations.
